About Us

The Division of Trauma, Burns, Critical Care & Acute Care Surgery in the UCI School of Medicine's Department of Surgery is dedicated to training skilled surgeons and advancing treatment through leading-edge research and to providing exemplary patient care at UC Irvine Medical Center, Orange County’s only Level I trauma facility.

Our faculty members deliver the highest caliber treatment across the spectrum of trauma, burn, critical and acute care services, as verified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS). They also support the UC Irvine Regional Burn Center, the only such ACS-verified burn treatment facility for the county’s residents.

The numerous peer-reviewed abstracts, studies, journal articles and book chapters produced by our faculty members attest to the dynamic research underway within the division. Faculty members also supervise the only surgical residency program and trauma/critical care fellowship in the region.
