The 2018 UCI Health Kidney/Pancreas Transplant and Nephrology Symposium held on Oct. 5, 2018, provided an overview of the kidney and kidney/pancreas transplant patient care continuum.
The course focused on promoting enhanced transplant patient care and management by advancing collaboration between community physicians and the UCI Health transplant program.
Newly expanded deceased donor options for kidney transplant recipients, as well as insight into the expanded use of simultaneous kidney/pancreas transplants for type 1 and type 2 diabetes, were also presented.
